What to Expect on Your Tour

    TOUR SNAPSHOT

Flamenco may hail from southern Spain, but that doesn’t mean this passionate tradition can’t be found in Barcelona! If you’d like to learn where flamenco came from and how it made its way to Barcelona, then join us for a night of flamenco and tapas! As you enjoy a traditional aperitif, your expert guide will set the scene for the drama-filled dance you’re about to see! You’ll then head to a hidden venue to watch Barcelona’s best flamenco show! Afterwards, you’ll sit down to a delicious tapas feast—the perfect moment to discuss what you’ve just seen!

    STOP-BY-STOP

Start the night off with Barcelona’s classic aperitif—sweet vermouth straight from the tap! As your expert guide walks you through the origin of tapas (and how locals do tapas in Barcelona!), you’ll taste pickled anchovies and chorizo cooked in hard cider.

Next, you’ll head to a different kind of bar—a modern bodega! Here, you’ll enjoy a glass of sparkling Spanish cava, along with two quintessential tapas! As you nibble on Iberian ham croquettes and spicy patatas bravas, you’ll hear the history behind flamenco and begin to understand the show you’re about to see!

Afterwards, it’s time for the flamenco show, which takes place within a hidden 17th century palace! With a drink in hand, you’ll make your way to your seat! During this intimate show, you’ll witness the true passion of talented local artists!

After the show, you’ll head to one of Barcelona’s best tapas and wine bars, where you’ll sit down for traditional Catalan tapas, wine, and of course, dessert!

And as with all Devour Barcelona tours, your guide will give you a copy of our Devouring Barcelona guide, which is packed with all our favorite places to eat and drink in the city! So put down your guidebook and get ready to experience Barcelona like a local!

    Rave Reviews for This Tour

Great question! A Devour Barcelona food tour is a fun, fascinating and (most importantly!) delicious introduction to the incredible city of Barcelona. Our food tours visit some of the city’s best traditional eateries, including tapas bars, local markets, taverns and shops, and hidden gems that few even know exist! You’ll taste some of Barcelona's best local food, and gain fascinating insight into its age-old traditions. We keep our groups small and every tour is led by an English-speaking guide who knows Bracelona like the back of their hand, and loves it to bits.
The tour lasts approximately 2.5 hours (give or take 15 minutes). The tour covers approximately 3.5kms/2.15miles
Don’t worry, you won’t be part of a massive hoard following a guide with a flag or a flamenco fan! We keep our groups small and intimate, so the tour can squeeze into small, hidden places and you get personal time with your guide. The maximum number of guests on this tour is usually 10 people and we only require two guests to operate a tour.
We want as many people to be able to enjoy our tours as possible. Scroll up the page a little to see what dietary restrictions this tour is adaptable for.
This tour is a great fit for families with curious teens and kids who would enjoy discovering true Spanish culture and enjoying an exciting and authentic flamenco performance. We offer teenand child pricing and they will be served non-alcoholic drinks. Given the evening nature of this tour, we do restrict it to guests aged 13 years and older.
The tour does not include transport to the meeting place, or from the ending point (ask your guide for guidance at the end of the tour if you’re not sure where you are). Also, please feel free to tip your guide if you think they did a great job! The standard gratuity in the tour industry is 10-15%.
Most importantly, your appetite! Also, keep in mind that tours take place rain or shine, so please dress appropriately and bring an umbrella if it looks like rain. Also, we recommend you wear comfortable shoes as you’ll be walking a few kilometres. Finally, while we do serve water on the tour at some stops, we recommend you bring a bottle of water.
Of course! We regularly offer private tours to families, groups of friends and corporate groups. Email us your group size, the date you'd like the tour and anything else you'd like us to keep in mind, and we'll get back to you within 24 hours.
