What to Expect on Your Tour
Join us for an unforgettable evening of Spanish wine and tapas as you discover Barcelona’s exciting wine scene with a local expert. This unique Barcelona wine tasting experience completely immerses you in this city’s world of wine as you visit three fabulous wine bars instead of a traditional, seated wine tasting. You’ll taste everything from Spanish reds, whites, sparkling wine, vermouth and sweet wine and discover the ins and outs of Spanish styles, varieties and regions. In short, this is the best way to discover Spanish wine while you’re in Barcelona. Throughout the evening, you’ll be led by a (fun!) wine expert through Barcelona’s gorgeous old town to three unique Barcelona wine establishments – a modern family-owned bodega, a beautiful Barcelona wine bar, and a traditional Catalan wine shop and bar that’s been passed down through generations. At each stop you’ll taste and discover wines in a fun, relaxed way, and also learn about different types of wine establishments in the city. This experience is perfect for all crowds, whether you’re a passionate wine connoisseur or just love a delicious drop at the end of a long day. By the end of the evening you’ll be able enjoy Spanish wine more fully for the rest of your trip, and also make better decisions when you’re back home standing in the supermarket wine aisle! Why is Spain known for its reds… and what about the whites? What’s the difference between cava and champagne? How do I order wine in a Spanish tapas bar? You’ll get the answer to those questions and so much more. But what is great wine without delicious food to accompany it? From traditional to modern, you’ll be treated to some of Barcelona’s most delicious tapas on this tour, each paired perfectly with an accompanying wine. It’s enough food for a full dinner (and with something sweet at the end of course). As with all Devour Barcelona food tours, you’ll be led by one of our small team of expert, passionate English-speaking guides. And you’ll get a copy of our Devouring Barcelona mini-guide, which is packed with all our favourite places to eat and drink in the city, so you’ll be eating well for the rest of your stay! Raise your glass and join us for the best wine and tapas experience in Barcelona!

As we walked from one location to the next, Fintan talked in detail about the different districts and their history - it was so great to be able to learn so much from him while having such a fun time! We would 100% recommend doing this tour!
Fin made everyone very welcome and made it clear that the tour was for all tastes and that there is no right or wrong on what you like. [....] There is no wine spitting, this is for everyone; fascinating history, interesting sights, delicious food, tasty wine, great company and very little walking!
The tour was the highlight of our trip. Not only did we learn so much about wine, but our guide Fintan took us to places in el born we never would've been to without going on the tour. Tasted amazing wine and ate delicious tapas! Would recommended this to anyone I know traveling to Barcelona. It's worth every penny and more!
Great question! A Devour Barcelona food tour is a fun, fascinating and (most importantly!) delicious introduction to the incredible city of Barcelona. Our food tours visit some of the city’s best traditional eateries, including tapas bars, local markets, taverns and shops, and hidden gems that few even know exist! You’ll taste some of Barcelona's best local food, and gain fascinating insight into its age-old traditions. We keep our groups small and every tour is led by an English-speaking guide who knows Bracelona like the back of their hand, and loves it to bits.
Don’t worry, you won’t be part of a massive hoard following a guide with a flag or a flamenco fan! We keep our groups small and intimate, so the tour can squeeze into small, hidden places and you get personal time with your guide. The maximum number of guests on this tour is usually 10 people and we only require two guests to operate a tour.
Given the wine-focused nature of this tour, it's not available for guests under 18 years old. For families, we suggest our daytime tours or our evening Tapas, Taverns & History Tour (which is available for teens).
The tour does not include transport to the meeting place, or from the ending point (ask your guide for guidance at the end of the tour if you’re not sure where you are). Also, please feel free to tip your guide if you think they did a great job! The standard gratuity in the tour industry is 10-15%.
Most importantly, your appetite! Also, keep in mind that tours take place rain or shine, so please dress appropriately and bring an umbrella if it looks like rain. Also, we recommend you wear comfortable shoes as you’ll be walking a few kilometres. Finally, while we do serve water on the tour at some stops, we recommend you bring a bottle of water.
Of course! We regularly offer private tours to families, groups of friends and corporate groups. Email us your group size, the date you'd like the tour and anything else you'd like us to keep in mind, and we'll get back to you within 24 hours.
