Every one of us said the family tour was the highlight of our trip—and we have been to Europe many times but this was one of our absolute favorite experiences. We walked throughout some of old Barcelona, seeing many out-of-the-way sites that you'd never find on your own: so you get the best of both worlds, not only the great advice of a tour guide but the intimacy of it being just your family. Our kids loved Paulina. She had dining experiences already reserved for us so we got to learn how to make proper tomato bread, as well as go into the kitchen of a chocolatier. I also appreciated that we visited several sites that were hundreds of years old, allowing us to support traditional family run businesses.
This was the highlight of our trip. Laura was our guide and she was awesome. Super warm and sweet to our 9 year old son. He was enthralled with her and the tour. We all loved every bit of it from the culture, history and of course the food. Do yourself a favor and book this tour. It’s totally worth it, you will not regret it. We love walking tours and we’re pretty well traveled. I would say this is one of the best we’ve done. I would not hesitate to use them again.
Kids walking tour was just what we needed! The kids had a wonderful time (as did my wife and I). Laura was incredibly attentive with my son (9) and daughter (6) and told them stories and took them to fun places and got them involved everywhere. My daughter is very quiet, and didn't speak much on the tour. When we got home, I asked what her favorite part of Barcelona was. Without hesitation, she said, "the kid's tour!" I would definitely recommend this tour if you have children.

We love providing delicious options for those with dietary needs. If you have a dietary requirement or food allergy, please note it when booking. This tour is not recommended for vegans and, due to the risk of gluten cross-contamination, this tour is not recommended for those with celiac disease.

Discover Barcelona’s historic city center on a private family-friendly walking tour with an expert guide. Our Barcelona for kids tour is specifically designed for kids ages 4 to 12, with special activities and conversation topics for each age group. We even add a small element of language learning activities if your kids are interested in practicing their Spanish with us at the beautiful Santa Caterina Market!
This private Barcelona family walking tour explores the city’s beautiful historic center, passing through Barcelona’s main sights in the Born & the Gothic neighborhoods. Tours may include stops such as the Giant’s museum, which children will love as they learn all about the fun, colorful and interesting traditions from Catalonia.
The fun and dynamic tour will keep your children engaged throughout with stories of Spanish history– explorers, kings and queens, princes and princesses, knights, artists, and more. Full of activities and games, including a dragon hunt through medieval streets! Watch your children follow clues and hints as we make our way through winding alleys in search of some of these mythical beasts, as we explain their place in Barcelona’s history.
Our first food stop of the morning will be a typical Spanish breakfast of churros.
We will then continue our journey to the beautiful local market and see the hustle and bustle of local of daily life as we learn some useful Spanish words and phrases before we set off again for the very famous Giant’s museum.
*The Giant's Museum is subject to closings, if closed alternate stops will be arranged.
Halfway through the tour, we will relax into another delicious tasting of the best Iberian cured meats at a traditional, family-run cafe. Adults and children will enjoy a beverage of choice (cava, wine, beer, soft drinks, or water) and kids will learn the art of making Spanish sandwiches, called “bocadillos” as they learn all about Spanish culture and how kids their own age live in Spain.
Fully energized, we take off on the second half of the tour where kids learn all about our Roman history as they explore the Gothic neighborhood. They will love the charming square and stories as they search for gargoyles hidden in the winding streets. Our kid-friendly guides are gifted storytellers and will make sure your children have the best experience of Barcelona.
Towards the end of the route, you’ll make your last stop at a beautiful old sweet shop before we say goodbye. The tour wraps up leaving you and your children with plenty of energy as you go back to enjoying your visit to Barcelona.

Great question! A Devour Barcelona tour is a fun, fascinating and (most importantly!) delicious introduction to the incredible city of Barcelona. Our food tours visit some of the city’s best traditional eateries, including tapas bars, local markets, taverns and shops, and hidden gems that few even know exist! You’ll taste some of Barcelona's best local food, and gain fascinating insight into its age-old traditions. We keep our groups small and every tour is led by an English-speaking guide who knows Barcelona like the back of their hand, and loves it to bits.
Wandering the gorgeous streets of Barcelona's historic center (Born and Gothic neighborhoods), you’ll visit Barcelona's top sights on fun and interactive tour for your family. Some tastes are included too-- you'll taste Spain’s world-famous cured meats, make pan con tomate, and stop at the city's most delicious churros and chocolate or homemade pastries. Please note, for a full family-friendly food tour we recommend our Tastes, Tapas, & Traditions of Barcelona Food Tour.
The material on the tour is geared towards kids ages 4 to 12, but we welcome the whole family along regardless of age. Otherwise, you may want to inquire about other small-group food tours (like our Gracia Neighborhood Food Tour or our Tastes, Tapas and Traditions of Barcelona Tour).
The tour does not include transport to the meeting place, or from the ending point (ask your guide for guidance at the end of the tour if you’re not sure where you are). Also, please feel free to tip your guide if you think they did a great job! The standard gratuity in the tour industry is 10-15%.
