Every one of us said the family tour was the highlight of our trip—and we have been to Europe many times but this was one of our absolute favorite experiences. We walked throughout some of old Barcelona, seeing many out-of-the-way sites that you'd never find on your own: so you get the best of both worlds, not only the great advice of a tour guide but the intimacy of it being just your family. Our kids loved Paulina. She had dining experiences already reserved for us so we got to learn how to make proper tomato bread, as well as go into the kitchen of a chocolatier. I also appreciated that we visited several sites that were hundreds of years old, allowing us to support traditional family run businesses.
Kids walking tour was just what we needed! The kids had a wonderful time (as did my wife and I). Laura was incredibly attentive with my son (9) and daughter (6) and told them stories and took them to fun places and got them involved everywhere. My daughter is very quiet, and didn't speak much on the tour. When we got home, I asked what her favorite part of Barcelona was. Without hesitation, she said, "the kid's tour!" I would definitely recommend this tour if you have children.
My 12 yr old said it was the best tour we had ever been on! We met Paulina at the monument and she asked what interested my son and he loves history, so we were in the right place to learn that! The private tour was a little more expensive than a shared tour however meant we could go round and visit different areas with no time constraints and could tailor it to us. We absolutely loved this tour and cannot recommend it enough. We learnt about Catalan food and history in a way that we could not have done ourselves. Thank you Paulina for opening our eyes to the true Barcelona!

What to Expect
You know that Barcelona is a magical city—but to your child, it seems like just another stop on your European tour. Bring the city to life for the little ones in your family on this private tour, especially thought out for 4 through 12 year olds. Get ready for games, wonder-filled stories and even a little Spanish practice. While exploring, we'll make stops for two kid-approved snacks: Spanish-style ham sandwiches and chocolate and churros.
This private walking tour explores the city’s historic center. We'll pass through Barcelona’s main sights in the Born and the Gothic Quarter. Your dynamic guide will keep your children engaged throughout with stories of Spanish history. Think explorers, kings and queens, princes and princesses, knights, artists, and more! Kids will see Barcelona as never before, especially while on a hunt through winding alleys looking for for as many dragons as they can find!
Along the way, we'll make two stops for kid-approved snacks. First up: chocolate and churros! Here, parents can choose to join in with a mug of hot chocolate or coffee.
Later, we'll do our tasting of the best Iberian cured meats at a traditional family-run cafe. Adults and children will enjoy a beverage of choice (cava, wine, beer, soft drinks, or water) and kids will learn the art of making (and eating!) Spanish sandwiches, called bocadillos. Meanwhile, they'll learn all about Spanish culture and how kids their own age live in Spain.
And don't worry, we won't ruin your appetite for lunch—but we will give you lots of tips for where to grab a bite after the tour.
As we continue exploring, we'll head to a local market to experience the hustle and bustle of daily life as we learn some useful Spanish words and phrases. Our next stop, pending its opening schedule, is the Giants Museum, where we'll talk about the colorful traditions of Catalonia. (If the Giants Museum is closed, don't worry—we'll take you to another favorite spot of ours!)
Towards the end of the route, we'll make our last stop at a beautiful old sweets shop before we say goodbye. By the end of the tour, your child will leave with a new understanding of Barcelona—and a memory they'll treasure for years to come!
And as with all Devour Barcelona tours, you'll receive our Devouring Barcelona guide. Packed with all our favorite places to eat and drink in the city, put down your guidebook and get ready to experience Barcelona like a local!
Your tour will be lead by one of our expert, English-speaking guides, who loves kids! They’re all gifted storytellers who are smart, passionate and talented and whose excitement for this country is contagious!
The tour does not include transport to the meeting place, or from the ending point (ask your guide for guidance at the end of the tour if you’re not sure where you are). Also, please feel free to tip your guide if you think they did a great job! The standard gratuity in the tour industry is 10% to 15%.
Most importantly, your appetite for food and fun! Keep in mind tours take place rain or shine, so please dress appropriately and bring an umbrella if it looks like rain. Also, we recommend you wear comfortable shoes as you’ll be walking a couple of kilometers. Finally, while we do serve water on the tour at some stops, we recommend you bring a bottle of water.
