I've always been hesitant to book a food/wine tour because it always seemed too expensive to me. However, this tour is SO WORTH IT! Myself and two friends ended up being the only people that booked this tour so it was essentially a private tour filled with wine, tapas, and great conversation! The time went by so quickly and we learned so much about wine local to the region, as well as some historical facts as we walked throughout the night from one venue to the next. I highly recommend it!
It was the best thing we did on the trip. I’ve done many food tours before and usually they bring you to the tourists traps for a small bite of food and a few sips of wine. This was the complete opposite experience - every place was authentic and unique and delicious and we left with our bellies full! (And pretty tipsy). We ended up hanging out with the people we met on the tour for the rest of the holiday. I actually know what kind of wine/vermouth/cava to order now thanks to Enrique. Can’t say enough good things about this experience!!
We loved the food, drinks and restaurants on the tour so much, that we just went back to every restaurant to eat more of what we had and try other items! So yummy, informative, and enjoyable! Worth every penny.
This tour is adaptable for...

We love providing delicious options for those with dietary needs. If you have a dietary requirement or food allergy, please note it when booking. Please note that this tour is not suitable for vegans and due to the risk of gluten cross-contamination, this tour is not recommended for those with celiac disease. Also, as this is a wine-focused tour, we do not recommend this tour for guests who do not drink alcohol.

Join us for an evening of great food and interesting wines in Barcelona's historic Born neighborhood. Tonight, we're leaving the Rioja and Ribera behind and diving into the world of unique Catalan wines instead. We'll sit down at modern bars and restaurants for an elevated dining experience where the contemporary food has clear ties to tradition.
Start your night the way most locals do in Barcelona—with a classic aperitif in Barcelona's original style of tapas bar. Here you’ll enjoy sweet vermouth straight from the tap, and you’ll learn why this delicious fortified wine is making a comeback. You’ll also try two quintessential Barcelona tapas: Iberian ham croquettes and spicy patatas bravas.
Next up, you’ll head to a modern wine bar that highlights small, local Catalan wine producers. That means that the wines we try here are ones you'll never find in a normal store! First we'll dive into the world of sparkling Spanish wine—cava—which is mostly produced in Catalonia. You’ll taste two very different cavas before moving on to something Spain is a little less known for: white and rosé! These wines will be paired with gourmet, open-faced toasts, a traditional Catalan dish.
We'll finish with a sit-down tapas dinner at a restaurant that's fully booked most nights of the week. If you want to understand tapas culture in Barcelona, this is where you need to go. The contemporary farm-to-table food has a clear connection to tradition, as well as to Barcelona's modern cuisine. Plus, the owner even makes his own wine! You’ll taste a couple of Catalonia's standout reds, paired alongside dishes like melt-in-your-mouth Iberian pork or tender braised beef.
By the end of the night, you will have tried some of Barcelona's stellar bites, paired with the wines you won't find anywhere else, and you'll understand how it all fits into the bigger picture of tapas in Barcelona.
And as with all Devour Barcelona tours, you'll receive our Devouring Barcelona guide. Packed with all our favorite places to eat and drink in the city, put down your guidebook and get ready to experience Barcelona like a local!
Don’t worry, you won’t be part of a massive crowd following a guide with a flag! We keep our groups small and intimate, so the tour can squeeze into small, hidden places and you get personal time with your guide. The maximum number of guests on this tour is usually 10 people, and we only require a minimum of two people to operate. However, currently our group sizes are much smaller (maximum 6 to 8 people) due to the current pandemic.
The tour does not include transport to the meeting place, or from the ending point (ask your guide for guidance at the end of the tour if you’re not sure where you are). Also, please feel free to tip your guide if you think they did a great job! The standard gratuity in the tour industry is 10% to 15%.
Most importantly, your appetite! Keep in mind tours take place rain or shine, so please dress appropriately and bring an umbrella if it looks like rain. Also, we recommend you wear comfortable shoes as you’ll be walking a few kilometers. Finally, while we do serve water on the tour at some stops, we recommend you bring a bottle of water.
Absolutely! We regularly organize private tours for families, groups of friends, and more. Email us your group size, the date you'd like the tour and anything else you'd like us to keep in mind, and we'll get back to you within 24 hours.
